TeamViewer launches version 6

Fresh new features are included for remote support and online-presentation

Goeppingen, Germany, December 2010 – TeamViewer GmbH, a leading provider of remote control and online-presentation software, now offers TeamViewer 6 for Windows. The new version brings innovative connection options and performance enhancing features to the all-in-one solution.

In version 6 the QuickSupport customer module, designed for fast and straightforward access to client computers, is optimized with customized features that adapt to business needs. Now, the small executable which runs without installation automatically registers customer ID in the TeamViewer partnerlist, where supporters can connect with a single click. Customers can reach out directly to supporters, as they are able to send chat messages, eliminating the need to call or send an email. Company disclaimers detailing corporate terms and conditions can also be included.

Just launched with TeamViewer 6, QuickJoin is an independent download which allows viewers to simultaneously enter the presenter ID and connect. This is perfect for group presentations as multiple viewers can join at the same time. With QuickJoin, viewers are entered into a virtual waiting room until everyone is connected. The presenter remains in control, as they are able to verify the number of viewers in the virtual waiting room and reveal the presentation at their discretion.
The TeamViewer 6 Host module, which enables 24/7 access to unattended computers or servers, is upgraded as well. Logos, color and text can now be included in to ensure the interface matches corporate identity. Further enhancing support sessions, automatic reconnect after remote reboot is now possible, for greater overall efficiency.

Design and performance are also revamped in TeamViewer 6. The initial screen is split into two tabs for quick and easy navigation between remote control and presentation. Importantly, performance is also greatly enhanced for increased speed and better connectivity in company networks.

“We are pleased to share TeamViewer 6 with our huge global user base,” shares Holger Felgner, General Manager of TeamViewer GmbH. “With customer feedback at the forefront of our software development, TeamViewer 6 offers a number of new connectivity options and optimized performance benefits that will enhance both remote control and online-presentation.”

Version 6 is specific for Windows users. TeamViewer sessions abide by the highest security standards, encrypted with AES 256 bit encoding. Free for non-commercial use, TeamViewer offers a number of licenses for commercial use.
